"Mickey" (Real Name: Son Young-min) is a Korean League of Legends player, current Mid Laner for Golden Guardians. He was formerly known as MickeyGod.

Despite hailing from South Korea, Mickey's first team was China's Team WE Academy, although his time with them was brief. While playing in South Korea Mickey was known for his time with Rebels Anarchy and Afreeca Freecs. He became noticed by many for his potential and high amount of talent. Sadly he wasn't able to achieve good results while in his home region and eventually got picked up by Team Liquid in the middle of 2017. After helping the team defeat Phoenix1 in the NA LCS Spring Promotion, he would be moved to Team Liquid Academy, following the franchising of the NA LCS. TLA finished 1st in the regular season and 3rd-4th in the playoffs, losing 1-3 to Echo Fox Academy in the semifinals. Mickey was then signed by the Golden Guardians and played on their NA LCS team in the Summer Split. They were unable to qualify for the playoffs however.

Career History

Mickey joined WE Academy in July of 2014. He played in 2014 LPL Summer as a mid laner and a jungler but WE Academy placed last in the season and Mickey left the team shortly afterwards. He then joined Rebels Anarchy who qualified for 2015 LCK Summer. In his first split, the team ended at 8th place. Although they failed to make it to the playoffs, the team were able to secure a spot for themselves in the upcoming 2016 LCK Spring Split.

In 2016 LCK Spring, Rebels Anarchy got acquired by Afreeca Freecs through sponsorship. Mickey continued to be the starting Mid Laner and in their rookie split as Afreeca, they were able to qualify for the playoffs after finishing the regular split at 5th place. However, Mickey and team did not make it further, as they lost against Jin Air Green Wings in the first round of the gauntlet. In 2016 LCK Summer, the team ended at 5th place again. They did qualify for the playoffs just like in Spring, but lost again in the first round of the gauntlet, this time against Samsung Galaxy.

With the amount of Championship Points they earned from both splits, Mickey and team made it to the 2016 LCK Regional Qualifiers. They made it past the first round after beating Jin Air, but unfortunately lost in the 2nd round against Samsung Galaxy, thus failing to qualify for the 2016 World Championship.

After a year with Afreeca, Mickey was released during the 2016 off season along with the rest of his teammates. Not too long after that, he got picked up by ROX Tigers as the starting Mid Laner for the 2017 LCK Spring Split. He will be playing under ROX's banner together with former teammates Seonghwan, Lindarang and Sangyoon, with the addition of KeY and Shy.

In 2017 LCK Spring Split, ROX Tigers and Mickey landed at 6th place with a record of 8W-10L. Despite the addition of Mightybear in the Jungle, the team still failed to make it out of group stage and into the playoffs.

The team did not make any changes into their lineup for the Summer Split. After the first round, ROX Tigers is at 7th place with a match score of 3W-6L. This triggered the call for a change in their roster and unfortunately for Mickey, the team decided to part ways with him.[1] He will then be replaced by Crow and Lava in the Mid Lane.
