Jang "Keane" Lae-young is a Korean League of Legends player, currently playing as Mid Laner for FlyQuest.

Biography

Keane is originally from Korea. He moved to New Zealand in November 2013 and studied at the University of Auckland. He used to play soccer as a hobby.

Career History

He first got into gaming through DoTa, where he played with his friends for 4 years on the Garena server. He started playing League of Legends in Korea during season 2 when Fiora was had just been released. He got picked up by Woong to play for MiG Wicked, it was here where Woong suggested that he played mid lane and so he transitioned from a top laner to a mid laner. He later left MiG Wicked before moving to New Zealand and joining Little Wraith as their mid laner. In April 2014 Team Curse acquired the roster of Little Wraith and formed Team Curse OCE where he then caught the eye of LiQuiD112 before being offered the top role for Curse Academy.

2015 Preseason

Curse Academy were given a seed into the Spring Expansion tournament as a result of their participation in the Promotion Tournament. With a roster of Hauntzer, Saintvicious, Keane, Cop, and Bunny FuFuu, they beat compLexity.White 2-0 in the online stage and then advanced to the live tournament, where they defeated Coast 3-1 and then Team Fusion 3-1, qualifying for the spring season. However, due to the one-team-per-organization rule, the roster was sold and became known as Gravity.

2015 Season

Gravity finished the spring round robin with a 10-8 record, in fifth place. In the quarterfinals, they lost 1-3 to Team Impulse and earned 10 Championship Points for the season. In the summer split, they finished each week in at worst fourth position, even holding sole possession of first place for weeks 7 and 8; however, they lost both of their games in the final week and ended the season in fourth, after a tiebreaker loss to Team Impulse. In the playoff quarterfinals, Gravity lost to Team SoloMid, leaving them with a year-long total of 30 Championship Points, and qualifying for the regional finals in fifth place. They lost immediately in the gauntlet, reverse swept by first-round opponent Cloud9, who went on to qualify to Worlds.

2016 Season

Keane joined new Challenger team Apex Gaming for the 2016 NACS Spring Season.[1] Apex won both the regular season of NACS and the playoffs, using both Eve and Shrimp actively in the jungle. In the promotion tournament, they were seeded first against the ninth-place Team Impulse, to whom they lost, and then against second place Challenger team Team Dragon Knights, a rematch of the Challenger Series finals. This time, they didn't even drop one game against TDK and qualified successfully for the LCS summer split.
