H2k-Gaming is a professional gaming organization based in the United Kingdom. The organization currently sponsors teams for League of Legends, Hearthstone, and Call of Duty.

History

On July 23rd, 2014, it was announced that H2k-Gaming violated the Riot Challenger Series rules by unsportsmanlike behavior when they failed to play their best and promptly end the game. H2k-Gaming was fined $300 USD.[1]

On August 6th, 2014, Riot announced that H2k-Gaming violated the Riot Challenger Series rules by not fielding a full roster for their 3rd place match in the 2014 EU Summer Series #2. H2k-Gaming was penalized with a prize money deduction of $750 USD.[2]

The team competed in the Spring Expansion Tournament, and qualified for the Offline Stage after beating Meloncats. In the Offline Stage, H2k won their first matchup against n!faculty, meaning they were one win away from the LCS. The team went on to beat GIANTS! Gaming in the Winner's Bracket Final, meaning they will be playing in the Spring Split.

2015 Season

The Spring Split itself was relatively successful for H2k-Gaming. After a shaky start, results began to pick up for the team, partly thanks to the introduction of kaSing to the roster. Impressive individual performances throughout the rest of the split helped the team to a 3rd place finish in the regular season. In the Spring Playoffs, the team beat Copenhagen Wolves in the quarterfinals, but were beaten in the semifinals in a close-fought series by eventual champions Fnatic. H2k-Gaming went on to pull off a shock victory over SK Gaming in the 3rd place match, securing themselves 50 Championship Points.

The team began to impress from the very start of the Summer Split. H2k-Gaming jostled for 2nd position with Origen throughout the regular season, with Fnatic way out in 1st place throughout. More mpressive performances ultimately helped the team to yet another 3rd place regular season finish. The Summer Playoffs also went well for the team, beating Giants Gaming in the quarterfinals of the tournament. The were beaten in the semifinals by Origen, but went on to beat Unicorns Of Love in the 3rd place match, securing the team 70 Championship Points, which meant that the team had qualified for the 2015 World Championship as Europe's #2 seed.

At the 2015 World Championship, H2k-Gaming were seeded into Group C along with SK Telecom T1, EDward Gaming, and Bangkok Titans. They picked up 2 wins in the group, both coming against BKT.The team finished the group in 3rd place, meaning they would not advance to the knockout stage of the tournament.

2016 Season

At the start of the season, H2k-Gaming were voted to play at IEM Season X - Cologne.[3] They fielded a roster including Odoamne and Ryu from their 2015 roster along with new members Jankos, FORG1VEN, and VandeR.

At then end of the 2016 EULCS Spring Season, the team finished 2nd in the round robin stage and 4th in the playoffs after losing to Origen (2-3) in the semifinals and losing the 3rd place match to Fnatic (2-3), thus ending their spring run in 4th place.

During the offseason, FORG1VEN left due to poor team synergy and his impending military draft (he was able to delay that later on) and so the team signed Freeze for the Summer Split. However, due to Freeze's wrist injury, he had to be replaced for the rest of the season and FORG1VEN re-joined the team after parting ways with Origen. The team then finished 4th in the round robin stage with a 7-6-5 standing to qualify for the 2016 EULCS Summer Playoffs.

At the playoffs, the team easily beat Fnatic (3-0) in the quarterfinals. However, the team lost to Splyce (2-3) in the semifinals. Eventually the team placed third in the 3rd place match against UOL. Their spring and summer performance, while not impressive at first, did ensure the team to qualify for the 2016 World Championship as 2nd seed from EULCS.

At Worlds, the team was grouped against EDward Gaming, ahq e-Sports Club and INTZ e-Sports. They managed to make it out as the first seed after beating EDward Gaming in the tiebreaker match. They were then seeded against Wildcard team Albus NoX Luna in the quarterfinals and won the series 3-0. However, the team lost to Samsung Galaxy (0-3) in the semifinals, THUS ending their run at 3rd-4th place. Throughout Worlds, Jankos had a breakout performance that won praises from analysts and fans.

During the offseason, FORG1VEN announced his free agency on November 3rd. Freeze then left the team on November 22nd and it was announced that Odoamne and Jankos renewed their contracts. On December 1st, the team announced the departure of Ryu, who will be replaced by Febiven as the starting Mid laner. Days after, VandeR was also released and on December 14th, the team announced that they have signed 2 Koreans, Nuclear and Chei to man their botlane.

2017 Season

Going into the 2017 Spring Split with a new best of three format, H2k was placed into Group B with Unicorns of Love, Origen, Splyce, and Team Vitality. Despite having a new roster, the team's performed well enough to remain at the top 2 of their group. During the middle of the season, the team was invited to IEM Katowice, where they qualified for the bracket stage after defeating Hong Kong Esports twice and falling only to ROX Tigers. In the semifinals, H2k lost 1-2 to the eventual tournament winners Flash Wolves, after winning the first game and holding a substantial lead in the second. After IEM, the team placed 2nd in their group, just behind Unicorns of Love to advance to the 2017 EULCS Spring Playoffs at the end of the regular season.

At the quarterfinals of the playoffs, the team faced Fnatic and much to the analysts surprise, the team failed to secure a single win to place 5th - 6th place to end their spring season.

Without any roster change, the team looked to have a good performance during the 2017 EULCS Summer Season to secure a spot for the 2017 World Championship. While the team was dominant in Group B which included Unicorns of Love, Splyce, Team Vitality, and Mysterious Monkeys, Group B was generally considered a much weaker collection against Group A which included G2 and Fnatic. Still, at the end of the regular season, H2k finished first in their group to secure a semifinal bye into the [2017 EULCS Summer Playoffs]].

At the summer playoffs, the team faced off against G2 who narrowly beat out Splyce at the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, the team failed to take a win off of G2 who was able to find their form back just in team to eventually win their fourth LCS championship. Still, the team accumulated enough circuit points to try and secure the last EUCLS spot at Worlds through the 2017 Season Europe Regional Finals. At the first round, H2k faced Splyce and easily advance to the next round 3-0. At the second round, the team narrowly beat out Unicorns of Love in an exciting 5 game series after securing a critical team fight. In the final round against Fnatic, H2k was unable to secure a single win, thereby ending their 2017 season.
