Afreeca Freecs is a League of Legends team based in Korea currently competing in the LCK.

History

2016

Afreeca Freecs got into LoL Champions Korea in 2016 by acquiring the spot and roster of Rebels Anarchy. The initial roster for the team include ikssu, lira, Mickey, Sangyoon and SnowFlower.

In their rookie split in LCK Spring, the team finished 5th in the round robin stage with a standing of 10W-8L. They then qualified to the playoffs and faced Jin Air Green Wings in the Wildcard match which they lost at 0-2.

There were no changes in Afreeca's roster for the Summer Split, except for the addition of Lindarang and Seonghwan prior to the start of Spring. Their Summer Split reflects Spring, as the team finished 5th in the round robin stage and 5th in the playoffs losing the Wildcard match to Samsung Galaxy.

Although the team made it to the Regional Qualifier, their run ended at Round 2, winning over Jin Air Green Wings but losing against Samsung Galaxy. Prior to 2016 LoL KeSPA Cup, ikssu and lira left the team and so they field Lindarang and Seonghwan for the tournament. At KeSPA, the team finished at 9th-14th place, losing to MVP in the Round of 12.

During the off season, the team released its remaining roster, including the Coaches. They then started rebuilding the team for the 2017 Season by signing ROX Tigers' former Mid Laner Kuro and CJ Entus's former AD Carry Kramer. The team also added MaRin former Top Laner for LGD Gaming. Spirit, who recently came back after playing for Fnatic was also added to their roster as the starting Jungler, along with Mowgli (formerly known as JaeHa) as the Substitute Jungler. To complete the roster, they also signed long-time Support player (who recently played as Jungler before his break) for former Incredible Miracle, TuSin.</div>

2017

Afreeca ended the Regular Split in 4th place, with a record of 10W-8L. Moving into the playoffs, they were seeded against Team MVP in a Wildcard best of 3 series. The team, however, lost the series 0-2 and ended their Spring Split run at 5th place overall.
