Team Dignitas is an International e-Sports team headquartered in Great Britain. It was founded on September 9th, 2003 as a fusion of the Battlefield 1942 clans Legion Condor and Sweden Kompanix. Later on, more teams were added to the organization, and in July 2004 Team Dignitas was registered as a company - Team Dignitas Ltd. In addition to their League of Legends team, Dignitas also sponsors teams and players for Battlefield 3, Counter Strike, Fifa, various fighting games, Quake Live, racing games, and StarCraft II. Michael "ODEE" O'Dell is the current Managing Director of the Team Dignitas organization.

The League of Legends division of Dignitas is one of the leading teams in the North American scene, placing highly in numerous premier and major events, both regional and international, since its conception with the acquisition of Rock Solid in September 2011. Currently, Team Dignitas hosts one team in the North American Season 3 Championship Series and an amateur team, Team Dignitas EU.

History

Season 1

European Squad

Team Dignitas made its first foray into League of Legends on February 18th, 2011 with the pickup of the FurlR roster, of which the only notable player is MoMa.[1] The team was invited to the IEM Season V - LoL Invitational which took place on March 4th, 2011 where the team placed fourth out of four teams. The squad was dropped in April 2011 citing "irreconcilable differences" with "no way to repair this relationship".[2]

2015 Season

Team Dignitas EU reformed early in the season, acquiring the roster of SK Gaming Prime, who had qualified for the EU Challenger Series Spring Split via the Spring Qualifier. After the second week of the split, AD carry CrazyCaps and support Zytan were replaced with Kobbe and Voidle, respectively. The team finished in fourth place at 4-6, qualifying them for the Spring Playoffs, however due to Sencux and Wunderwear being under the minimum age of 17, they could not play with the current roster. The team turned down the opportunity to play with subs and therefore gave up their spot in the playoffs, which then went to fifth place Reason Gaming.[3]

During the Challenger Series off-season, Brokenshard transitioned from jungler to head coach and was replaced by Obvious. In addition, support player Voidle was replaced by Nisbeth, forming an all-Danish roster. In the summer split of the Challenger Series, the team finished 8-2 in second place behind only Gamers2. While playing each series to the maximum number of games, Dignitas EU defeated Denial eSports EU and Mousesports, finishing first and earning a spot in the 2016 Spring Season of the European LCS.

2016 Preseason

Due to now having two LCS-level teams, Dignitas was forced to sell one of their rosters, and the organization chose to sell their European team. On October 29th, 2015, the team was announced as sold to Follow eSports.[4]
