Misfits is a European team.

History

Misfits was formed in May 2016 to play in the EUCS Summer Qualifiers after their former parent organization Renegades was banned from competitive play and so could no longer compete under the name Renegades: Banditos. In the qualifiers, they finished first in their group and then defeated EURONICS Gaming 3-1 in the finals to successfully qualify for the Summer Season.

2016 Season

Competing with an initial roster of top laner Alphari, jungler Wisdom, mid laner Selfie, AD carry Hans sama, and support igNar, the Misfits roster brought a great deal of experience to the table, most notably Wisdom's 2015 World Championship runner-up finish. Little stood in the way of the team as they accumulated a 9-1 regular season record and rolled to an undefeated first place finish in the playoffs. This earned a berth in the 2017 EU LCS Spring Promotion, where Misfits defeated FC Schalke 04 in the final qualifying round after an opening loss to Origen.

Prior to the start of the following LCS season, Wisdom and Selfie departed the team and were replaced by former KT Rolster star KaKAO and former Origen and Unicorns of Love mid laner PowerOfEvil.

2017 Season

In the 2017 spring split, the EU LCS regular season reorganized into two groups of five teams each. Misfits were drafted into Group A alongside G2 Esports, Fnatic, Team ROCCAT, and Giants Gaming. Right from the get go, the team displayed great promises from Hans sama and KaKao's stellar plays in their respective position. The team finished the regular season in 2nd place of Group A to qualify for the 2017 EU LCS Spring Playoffs.

At the playoffs the team narrowly beat out Splyce 3-2 in the quarterfinals to face Unicorns of Love in the semifinals. However, the team failed to advance to the finals, securing only one win against UOL. The team finished their spring season by placing fourth after failing to secure a single win against Fnatic in the third place match.

Heading into the 2017 EU LCS Summer Season, Misfits let go of KaKao and replaced him with Maxlore as their new jungler. Drafted into Group A that included G2 Esports, Fnatic, Team ROCCAT, and Ninjas in Pyjamas, the team looked to improve their performance from spring season. That said, against a rising Fnatic in their group, the team finished third in their group with a 6-7 record and barely made it into the 2017 EU LCS Summer Playoffs.

However, against analysts prediction, the team adjusted their play style and blazed to the finals, losing only 1 match along the way by defeating Unicorns of Love and Fnatic. However, against G2 Esports, the team was unable to score a single win and had to settle for second place. That said, the team gained enough circuit points to qualify for 2017 Worlds as the second seed from EULCS.

At the 2017 World Championship, Misfits was grouped with Team WE, Team SoloMid and Flash Wolves. They finished second in their group. They managed to knock out both Team SoloMid and Flash Wolves. In the quarterfinals they faced SK Telecom T1. After losing the first match, they managed to defeat twice their opponent. Their happiness didn't last long because SK Telecom T1 came back and defeated them with a final score 2-3.
